ISO 9001:2015 – the new version of the standard was published in September 2015 and brings the user a number of benefits. It puts greater emphasis on leadership engagement, and helps address organisational risks and opportunities in a structured manner. It uses simplified language and a common structure and terms, which are particularly helpful to organisations using multiple management systems, such as those for the environment, health and safety, or business continuity. The standard is more user-friendly for service and knowledge-based organisations, and supply chain management is addressed more effectively. Transition to ISO 9001:2015 must be by the 30th September 2018
